Skylar Shibayama

Skylar is a research manager at MATS. Prior to joining MATS he worked for 7 years as a data analyst for the Seattle Mariners, particularly focusing on in-game strategy and staff education. He transitioned careers in 2025 after participating in AI Safety courses from BlueDot Impact and AI Safety Camp. He holds a B.A. in statistics from Yale University. Outside of work Skylar loves playing all sports, including most recently golf, pickleball, and bowling.
