Heera Sharma

Heera is a Research Manager at MATS. She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (conc. Neuroscience) from the University of Florida and a Master's in Nonprofit Administration and Leadership from Cleveland State University. She previously founded and led Go Laadli, a social impact organization working with young women in India where she designed mentorship, leadership, and educational programs. Her pivot into AI safety - shaped by formal training in AI safety, ethics, and biosecurity, and a Project Research Manager role at AI Safety Camp - reflects a long-standing, intellectually serious engagement with problems that have real human stakes. Her interests span technical research, AI × biosecurity, governance, and field-building, and she is committed to directing her work where it can have the greatest impact.
