Chris Ackerman

Chris is a Research Manager at MATS. Prior to joining MATS, he worked for Google as a Quantitative UX Researcher for 12 years and earned a PhD in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins and an MS in CS from the University of Southern California. He's been in the AI safety space since early 2024, conducting independent AI safety research and serving as a teaching fellow for Bluedot courses, a SPAR mentor, and a research manager.
