Philip Moreira Tomei

Hey, I’m Philip Tomei, I work at the intersection of technology and social systems.

I currently lead research at AOI where I work on societal and economic effects of Artifical Intelligence. 

​

I was also a fellow of Antikythera and Pax Machina  where I focused more on the governance and philosophy of technology. I write about things like the financialisation of risk. 

​

My background is in Cognitive Science and dynamical systems theory. I’ve run academic conferences, a record label, contemporary art exhibitions and written experimental fiction. I meditate and I talk about out on things like LARP and collective intelligence.

I spend a lot of time speaking to machines and listening to humans.

Otherwise, I dream about medieval choral music and winemaking.
