Andrew Critch

Andrew Critch is CEO and cofounder of Encultured AI (now doing business as HealthcareAgents) and a research scientist at UC Berkeley's Center for Human-Compatible AI, where he focuses on societal-scale safety issues and governance challenges posed by advanced artificial intelligence systems. He holds a PhD in algebraic geometry from UC Berkeley, has co-founded multiple organizations including the Center for Applied Rationality and Berkeley Existential Risk Initiative, and previously worked as a research fellow at the Machine Intelligence Research Institute and as an algorithmic trader at Jane Street Capital.
